Everyday Market Shopper (PDF)

This versatile shopper can be made in several ways and I'm sure you will find more ways of your own.

It is a fun bag to make and introduces you into the art of 'Bargello Quilting'.

Pattern Description:

Overview:

This stylish shopper is made from two Bargello panels which give a complex design but is easy to achieve and depending upon the colours chosen, can give very different effects. You can also make it with a boxed bottom or leave it straight.It is a roomy bag for all your shopping needs.

Materials Needed:

• 2.5" Jelly rolls(ideal for this pattern)
• 12 X 21" X 2.5" strips in patterned fabric
• 4 X 21" X 2.5" strips in plain material (this can be cut from the 1 meter of plain material or from a Jelly roll
• 1 meter of plain fabric for lining and handle
• 1 meter of H640
• Matching thread (I used Aurifil 50wt)
• Contrasting thread ( I used Aurifil 40 wt)
• Best press or something similar (optional)
• 5 extra Jelly roll strips for the pocket

• Sewing machine
• Material cutting scissors
• Clips and pins
• Heat erasable pen
• Quilting ruler
• Quilting tape
• Rotary cutter
• Cutting mat
• Tape measure
• Iron
• Ironing cloth
• Small sharp scissors
• Awl
• Ironing roll
• Turning/Edging tool
• Seam ripper
