On a recent trip to New York, staying near Times Square, we were captivated by the bright neon lights and towering skyscraper signs. This unforgettable experience inspired the creation of our new Times Square Tote Bag!

The vibrant and larger-than-life energy of New York is echoed in this spacious and practical tote bag design. With bold colors and ample room, we hope this tote brings you a taste of the excitement we felt in Times Square.

Pattern Description:

Overview: 

Everything in New York is on a larger scale, bright and vibrant, so we hope this roomy and practical tote bag with its beautiful bright colours gives you the same feeling we had whilst we were there.

Materials Needed:

• 1.5 meters of plain fabric
• 1 of meter of patterned fabric
• 1 of meter of H640
• 1 zip 7" or longer 
• 4 X 1" rectangular sliders
• 2 meters of 1" wide webbing 
• 8 rivets (I used the Green Machine)
• 1 X 20mm lobster clasp
• 1 X 20mm D ring
• 2 extra snaps (optional)
• 1 magnetic snap or popper

• Sewing machine 
• Material cutting scissors
• Clips and pins
• Heat erasable pen
• Quilting ruler
• Quilting tape
• Rotary cutter
• Cutting mat
• Tape measure
• Iron
• Ironing cloth
• Pinking shears
• Small sharp scissors

• Turning/Edging tool
• Seam ripper
• Walking foot (optional)

• Rivet attaching tool, for example, Green Machine

• You will note there are instructions on the pattern, please mark these out onto the interfacing/pattern pieces as they indicate important points on the Times Square Tote bag
• When cutting out your paper pattern, the gusset is in two pieces and needs to be joined at A and B to make full size.
